註釋
In late 1975 the Reverend Ndabaningi Sithole was invited by Samora Machel, the first President of newly independent Mozambique, to join Bishop Abel Muzorewa in Maputo for discussions on the liberation of Zimbabwe. It was at that point impossible for Sithole to return to Zimbabwe as he would have been immediately imprisoned by the Rhodesian Front regime. The move to Maputo enabled Sithole to liaise closely with the Zanu forces which had begun to step up dramatically the tempo of the guerrilla campaign against the Smith "government". But it also led to a fascinating series of interviews by Sithole with the Frelimo activist who had been appointed to look after the two Zimbabwean leaders - Julius Paunde Shimangane Ingwane; and finally out of the interviews came this remarkable book.
