註釋Pp. 10-66 describe the experiences of Jack Spijer (1914-1993) in camps during the Holocaust based on a manuscript he wrote and what he told his daughter Rachel. Spijer (1914-1993) was born in England, lived in Amsterdam, and wrote a 34 pp. memoir after the war about his time in Vught, Westerbork, Amersfoort, and Bergen-Belsen. Despite the fact that he had a British passport, he was sent in February 1943 to the Schouwburg, with his wife and their daughter Greta (1940-1990). From there, all three were deported to Vught and other camps. Jack wrote about the hard labor, the punishments, and the many different jobs he held. He, his wife and his daughter were liberated from Bergen-Belsen in 1945. Two girls were born after the war, Sonja in 1946 and Rachel in 1953.
