Sociology of Contemporary Agri-food Restructuring in Australia
註釋Abstract : Genome-wide expression microarray technology has been shown to be an accurate and highly sensitive way to outline entire biological pathways for therapeutic target prediction and identification. Microarrays are now being widely used by pharmaceutical companies to improve nearly every aspect of the traditional drug discovery and development process. The data generated from microarray analysis have been substantially impacting in target identification, target validation, pharmaceutical agent screening and lead optimization. The overall goal here is to summarize the applications of microarray in different stages of drug discovery through a number of serial studies. More specifically the aims of this research are (I) To explore the applications of global transcriptome analysis in revealing novel annotation of pathway regulators through several tissue-specific or strain-specific patterns of mRNA expression models. (II) To discuss several new drug targets discovered through genome-wide expression methods. (III) To investigate the advantage of genome-wide expression microarray approaches utilized in therapeutic agent screening. This research has resulted in a body of work involving a number of publications that are compiled and discussed in this thesis.
