註釋The physiological effects of exercise on the heart, lungs, and metabolism of normal individuals is the subject of this book. Recent studies which evaluate an athlete's potential by measuring cardiovascular responses to exercise are included as well as the biopotentials of the human body to withstand the lung pressure experienced during such sports as diving, skiing, and running in high-altitude areas. Also provided are papers which explore the effects on thyroxin release. Heat adaptation and the relation of sweat gland performance to heat stroke are then discussed in a later section.
