Samuel the Seeker
註釋Follow the journey of Samuel Prescott in Upton Sinclair's thought-provoking social and political satire. This rags-to-rags story examines every form of social injustice and societal ill through the eyes of an idealistic farm boy who eagerly adopts every world philosophy introduced to him, only to watch every ideology he accepts crumble under the weight of his experiences. Sinclair's satirical device in the flesh exposes the hypocrisies and fallacies of the world by actually believing in them until he stumbles upon a group of local socialists. Though a pro-socialist morality play, this novel offers a well-executed and still-relevant commentary on capitalism.
