Since it was first released in 1981 (with a second edition in 1991 and a third edition in 2000), no book except for the Bible and hymnbooks) has been more used by United Church people as a study resource than This United Church of Ours. The study groups during the first ten years used a guide prepared by Rev. Beverley Milton, who is married to author Ralph Milton. During the second ten years, Norma Goughnour wrote a new guide based on the work of Bev Milton. This guide is based on the work of both those writers, but is designed for use with this fourth edition.
