註釋Genealogical data was abstracted from the filmed church records of St. Cecilia/Philomena Catholic Church located in Oak Forest, Indiana, Franklin County. Baptismal, marriage and burial records covering the 1800s were translated from Latin script into English and arranged into family groups with names and dates. People who were sponsors at a baptism or witnesses to a marriage were not included in family group information. Groups are arranged alphabetically by the father's surname. All names are indexed. Married women will have an extra entry to identify them by their maiden name. All entries are sourced to the page or image from multiple films. Appendices include 1) a brief history of St. Philomena and how its name changed into St. Cecilia of Rome and how the church is used and named as of 2011; 2) a page of tips to read handwriting if you decide to look at the original records which are available online thru FamilySearch; 3) a discussion of marriage impediments in the Catholic Church and the requirements to overcome some of them; 4) a web article about the appearance and translation of given names from Latin to English; and 5) a newspaper article from 1903 describing the death of a father and son from a lightning strike.
