Smierc I Perspektywa Nadziei
註釋They say we live in the times of death, terrorism, legal abortion, temptations of euthanasia; the value of human life is ever lower and the death ever more technologised, in sterile hospitals, amongst valves, needles and equipment obscuring our conscious, suffering and dying 'self'. That is why reflection on death is so much needed. It is also needed for another reason: death casts a shadow over our entire life, but it also sheds its unique light upon us. It is said that in order to live genuinely, everyone should come to terms with the inevitability of their own death. Naturally, the young and healthy look at that matter differently to the sick and suffering or the elderly, whose lives have been fulfilled. Nonetheless, we should all spare it a thought. Antoni Siemianowki's philosophical essay beautifully presents the ultimate events of life. And even though it is philosophical without a doubt, it is written in words simple enough to make it, with a little effort, comprehensible even to the average reader.
