註釋The author's four grandparents immigrated from England to South Africa in 1820, and his father (Henry Talbot) married Ruth Sweetman. The author, the oldest child, was born in Grahamstown, South Africa in 1834, and married Lavinia Ann Wall in 1859. After converting to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints they immigrated to Utah in 1861.
