Tommy's Place is the realization of a dream and a vision held by Tim O'Connell. Tommy's Place is dedicated in memory of Grifyn Sawyer. Tim anonymously gave Grifyn and his entire family a weeks' vacation at one of his properties on Martha's Vineyard. The letters and photos that were forwarded to Tim from the family were the impetus to building Tommy's Place.Why Tommy's Place? That's because of another person who was important in Tim's life. Tommy Leonard, a former runner, U.S. Marine, and infamous bartender known for his fun-loving spirit, positive attitude, and huge, loving, and generous heart. He was an inspiration to Tim and naming the home after Tommy Leonard was giving Tommy the permanent home he never had as a child.The goal of restoring the inn was accomplished with the help of the local community and the world at large! Individuals made financial contributions, companies made contributions of materials and labor, in short it was a beautiful, collaborative effort of 1,000's of individuals and businesses to get the doors open for these children and families in July of 2021.The cookbook reflects that effort. Restaurants in Falmouth provided recipes, retail and commercial businesses provided the funding for printing and publication.You too can become part of this collaboration with the purchase of "Tommy's Place Cookbook."
