註釋
Ernest M. Skinner was a great American pipe-organ builder who flourished in the 1920s. His instruments had grandeur, warmth, and wide ranges of tonal color. Many of his instruments were "modernized" during the neo-baroque craze of the 1950s and 1960s, and there are relatively few of them in their original condition. Dorothy Holden has written a detailed account of Skinner and his instruments. Dorothy and Kenneth Holden were responsible for the proper restoration of one of Skinner's larger organs--that in the Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian Church in Detroit.
