This brochure describes a simple procedure to determine available forage in the field, without the need to oven-dry forage samples. The procedure involves sampling a plot of specified area, clipping & weighing the forage, and using conversion tables & utilization factors to determine the number of animal unit months the forage area can support. A form for use in field data collection is included.
