Bill David Macrae Papers
註釋General description of the collection: The Bill David Macrae papers include a completed Vietnam War Veterans Survey questionnaire which traces Macrae's military service and postwar activities and comments on various aspects of military life. He compares the equipment and rations from his Vietnam War experience to his current military service. He says the M-16 he used misfired frequently. He says that Stars and Stripes should be required reading. He cites an incident of violence directed against his 1st "Chief of Smoke" which caused him to leave country immediately. The morale of his unit was good when he arrived, but deteriorated as the experienced members left country. He participated in many combat operations at various fire bases. He resented the restrictions on operations. He cites drinking, drug use, racial problems, theft, and violence against superiors as common in his unit.
