Joseph Lister the Friend of Man
註釋Joseph Lister (1827-1912) was a famous doctor in Glasgow, Scotland. He was born in London, and married Agnes Syme (d. 1893) in Edinburgh. He was a professor of medicine, having taught surgery in Glasgow, Edinburgh and London, and was responsible for such things as sterilizing wounds using carbolic acid. His ancestral roots were from Bingley, Yorkshire. He was a member of the Society of Friends.
