America's Bigfoot
註釋Dmitri personally studied a case about a Russian Almasty, or Russian Snowman that occurred in the late 1800s. The female creatures name was Zana and she had been caught and tamed and lived and died within the memory of a number of people still alive at the time of the research. She was buried near the village of Tkhina in the Ochamchiri District of Abkhazaia in the 1880's or 1890's. She had been successful in bearing some children with matings from the men in the village. This story of the investigation on Zana, plus many sighting reports from Russia are what this delightful book is made of. It's difficult to put it down once you begin to read it. It's been translated into English and sold in the U.S. over the years since it's publication, but it has not been widely available. Don't miss this rare opportunity to own it. The picture on the front cover is a fragment of an old Russian icon from the collection of the Museum of the Moscow Kremlin. It is called The Virgin Bogolyubskaya with scenes from the lives of Sts. Zosima and Savati. It was painted in 1545 at the Solovesky Monastery in the north of Russia. The scene reproduced on the cover shows the hermits Zosima and Savvati being tempted by the devil. The latter is portrayed in the image of a shaggy biped better known today (in Russia) by the name of snowman.
