William Eagan was born in 1788, Carlow County, Ireland and married Catherine Kavanagh in Carlow County. They immigrated to Nova Scotia in 1821 and in 1827 settled in the historic town of Plattsburgh, Clinton Co., New York. Some of their descendants moved to the region of La Crosse, Wisconsin.
