Cross-cultural Adaptation of the Internet Gaming Disorder Scale-Short-Form (IGDS9-SF) to the Brazilian Context

註釋Introduction: The Internet Gaming Disorder Scale-Short-Form (IGDS9-SF) is a scale that aims to assess the severity as well as the harmful effects and / or consequences of excessive online and offline gaming. Its brevity and theoretical foundation in accordance with the current diagnostic criteria of the game disorders have made it a useful resource for use in clinical and screening contexts. Objective: To present the process of cross-cultural adaptation of the IGDS9-SF to the Brazilian context. Methods: Transcultural adaptation involved the steps of independent translation of the instrument, synthesis version, back translation and elaboration of the final version. The evaluation of content validity was performed by a multidisciplinary committee of experts and consisted of both a quantitative analysis (calculation of content validation coefficient / CVC) and qualitative evaluation of the comments and suggestions of the specialists. Results: the transcultural adaptation of the scale was according to the protocol adopted and the CVC was satisfactory (u2265 0.83) for all structures and equivalences evaluated. Most of the suggestions of the specialists were accepted, the main ones related to adjustments and standardization of the spelling. Discussion: The Brazilian version of IGDS9-SF showed adequate content validity and its adapted version for Brazil is available for use by researchers and clinicians, as well as for testing of other psychometric qualities.
