WORKPLACE VIOLENCE EXPERIENCED BY STAFF NURSES
註釋

This book contains an investigation of workplace violence experienced by staff nurses in a selected private hospital in Manado, Indonesia. Likewise, it tried to describe the relationship of the participants' selected demographic profile to the extent of workplace violence experienced.

All the staff nurses in the selected hospitals were surveyed as to the type and extent of violence experienced in the workplace. Results showed that 63% of the 93 staff nurses experienced verbal abuse as a form of psychological violence. Nobody experienced verbal abuse more alert and watchful as deterrents to such abusive actions. Participants who had not experienced workplace violence disclosed they would resort to the same active responses to face similar violence in the workplace. As a passive response, both groups stated they would take no action and try to pretend nothing happened at all.
