Corrosion Fatigue of 7000 Series Aluminum Alloys
註釋Results of fatigue testing of 7017-T651 aluminum alloy in seawater at frequencies from 0.1 to 70 Hz have been assessed in relation to the stress corrosion behavior of this material. In particular, the applicability of a simple superposition model is examined. Detailed fractographic examination indicates a dependence of fracture mode upon both crack growth rate and frequency that is consistent with a dependence upon the rate of diffusion of hydrogen in the material. Despite this, it seems that some other process provides the rate-determining step in the cracking. Various possibilities are considered.
