CL1L can be classified as a revertant by several parameters: morphology, saturation density, growth on preformed 3T3 monolayers, growth in low serum, and growth in soft agar. This cell line grows more like a normal cell than a transformed cell and meets the first criteria of a cellular revertant. To test the ability of the CL1L large T antigen to function in transformation, the single early region integration in CL1L was cloned
