註釋Thomas Mumford (1625-1692) was born in England and arrived in America about 1650, settling in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. He married Sarah Sherman and they had at least four children. Their son, Thomas (1656-1726) was born in Rhode Island and married twice. He fathered ten children. Later generations moved to Connecticut. Today descendants live throughout the United States.
