註釋Abstract: The fluoridation controversy is the subject of this collection of articles, letters, advertisements, and additional materials compiled by the Lehigh Valley (Pennsylvania) Committee Against Health Fraud, Inc., an independent organization working to combat deception in the field of health. Materials are organized into three major sections entitled 1) tooth robbers and how to spot them, 2) fluoridation facts, and 3) fighting for teeth. Section One introduces the major opponents of fluoridation, their arguments, methods of delivery, and sources of motivation. A fluoridation update reviews progress made thus far in making fluoridation mandatory at the state level. Answers are given to 100 of the most frequently asked questions about fluoridation in the areas of definition, benefits and effectiveness, safety, cost, alternatives, social and legal issues, opponents, and politics of fluoridation. Recommendations and suggestions for conducting a successful fluoridation compaign are presented along with a variety of campaign materials. Materials include magazine and newspaper articles, official statements by government and professional organizations, a list of professional organizations endorsing fluoridation, public service messages, posters, and a series of advertisements designed to educate the community about fluoridation and to generate voter support for fluoridation immediately prior to a referendum (aje).
