Perspectives on Morisot
註釋"Berthe Morisot - Impressionist was one of the notable art events of the 1980s. The first major retrospective exhibition of this member of the Impressionist group to be held in America, organized by the Mount Holyoke College Art Museum in association with the National Gallery of Art, it led to a thorough reappraisal of the work and influence of this innovative and pioneering artist. As a result of the opportunity to examine her oeuvre in detail, a number of leading art historians have written fascinating essays on different aspects of her life, work, and career. Perspectives on Morisot includes: "The Spaces of Everyday Life: Berthe Morisot and Passy" by Kathleen Adler; "Manet, Morisot, and Propriety" by Beatrice Farwell; "Berthe Morisot and the Feminizing of Impressionism" by Tamar Garb; "The Other Side of the Mirror" by Anne Higonnet; "Berthe Morisot: Nineteenth-Century Woman as Professional" by Suzanne Glover Lindsay; "Morisot's Wet Nurse: The Construction of Work and Leisure in Impressionist Painting" by Linda Nochlin; and "La Dernière Mode: Berthe Morisot and Costume" by Anne Schirrmeister; along with an Introduction by T.J. Edelstein, the chief organizer of the Morisot exhibition. The essays are augmented by 24 colorplates and numerous black-and-white illustrations of works by Morisot and her colleagues as well as contemporary documentary material." --
