"Exploration for oil and gas in Papua New Guinea has been ongoing since the 1920s. Barry went to Papua New Guinea during the period of Australian administration in 1967 and returned to Australia in 1973. He carried out extra study and worked in the field of Remote Sensing for 17 years. In 1996 he was invited back to PNG by Oilmin Field Services and manages crews working in the jungles to establish seismic lines which would eventually, hopefully, lead to the discovery of oil or gas. The book "Scenery and Seismic in Papua New Guinea" is a collection of photographs which cover the few years, 1996-2013, that Barry has been working in the exploration industry."
