Impact Assessment of Rural Water Systems : an Evaluation of Regional Water Services in Rhineland and MacDonald
註釋This report evaluates rural water service systems (pipelines) in rural Manitoba, focusing on the pipeline projects completed in the regional municipalities of MacDonald and Rhineland. The report first reviews past agreements and infrastructure projects in an effort to examine future policy for provision of water service. The report then presents results of a study that involved a survey of a sample of water pipeline service users and a sample of non-users. The survey examined such matters as water consumption and use, current sources of water, the effects of pipelines on water use, attitudes toward the pipeline connection, the impact of the pipelines on quality of life and on the economy and environment of the community, and the personal characteristics of the respondents. The report also compares capital and variable costs of water procurement for the MacDonald and Rhineland systems with those of other rural Manitoba systems.
