Carlos Cruz-Diez in Black and White
註釋"Carlos Cruz-Diez is considered one of the major exponets of contemporary art of our time. He was part of the Kinetic Movement in the late 1950s, and his research and evolution in the field of visual art were concerned wit the question of color. There is, however, one portion of his work that is expressed in black and white -- his photographs. These images reflect his visual and aesthetic explorations during the early years of his artistic career, in the 1940s, and during his European sojourn that began in the 1950s. ... The images in this book were culled from the archives at both the Documentation Center at the Atelier Cruz-Diez in Paris and the Articruz workshop in Panama, using the negatives originally developed by Cruz-Diez. The selection process was guided by the photographic aesthetic of the images as well as by the historical and documentary value of many of the photographs, none of which have ever been published"--page 27.
