Engraved and illustrated billhead for John and Thomas Clark, Druggists, No. 91, Maiden Lane, New York, completed in manuscript for purchases by Dr. Egbert Janzen, [8?] June 1810. The engraved date states only a century, "18[blank line]'; it is completed "10" by hand. Dr. Egbert Jansen (or Janzen?) orders 118 items, totaling $880.06 and spanning two pages in double columns. Ordered items include 6 pounds of opium, 6 dozen penis syringes, 4 dozen clyster pipes, 4 pounds tartar emetic, 2 dozen lancets, 2 dozen tooth brushes, numerous boxes and vials, and 1 bottle aether (ether). A third page lists an additional 15 items. The folded document is docketed on page [4] as paid. The quantities of each item suggest Jansen was outfitting a sailing ship or his own practice.
