Edith Nesbit was one of the most popular children's authors of her time. Her fantastical tales remain very engaging for children today. In retrospect, a lot of her work seems to predict the British fantasy literature of the 20th Century as written by J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. These timeless tales remain excellent bedtime reading.
