註釋Tony Johnson's childhood was spent moving between Elmwood Park, St. Louis, Missouri and Los Angeles, California. After graduating from Beaumont High School in St. Louis, he earned a B.S. in Education from Southern Illinois University in East St. Louis and then went on to teach in the East St. Louis public schools, beginning in 1967. He began working a night shift at a St. Louis radio station, which eventually led to a full time career as a disc jockey at KWKI radio, Kansas City, Missouri, in 1970.
