註釋
This collection of short stories by twelve contemporary Galician writers could serve as a small window through which to peep into the Galician literary landscape. Whether reading about the dreams of a political prisoner on death row, the story of a student fresher fighting capitalism by stealing in supermarkets, a chemist rep on an awkward date, the zoo of Osijek on the frontline of the Balkans war, or visiting a remote Lahu village in the mountains of Thailand, the reader will find a broad range of styles, themes and voices that characterize Galician literature after Francoism. With the exception of some of Manuel Rivas' books, the presence of Galician literature in English has been minimal, and in most cases restricted to the academic sphere. This eclectic anthology makes available to the international reader a variety of texts that give a glimpse of the vitality of Galician literature in the last decades. This anthology and translation has been made by the Centre for Galician Studies at The Queen's College in the University of Oxford. The Centre has also been responsible for two previous literary translation projects, the books Them and Other Stories by Xose Luis Mendez Ferrin and Things by Castelao, both published by Planet. This book inaugurates the collection Foreign Demand, a publishing project of the group Boca2mouth (Boca2mouth.net). www.foreigndemand.net Thi anthology includes short stories from the following writers: Marilar Aleixandre, Xurxo Borrazas, Uxia Casal, Luisa Castro, Cid Cabido, Marina Mayoral, Miguel-Anxo Murado, Gonzalo Navaza, Xavier Queipo, Manuel Rivas, Suso de Toro, Xelis de Toro.
