註釋Future and past space missions involving descents through planetary atmospheres or landings on planets often advantageously utilize parachute systems. Therefore the European Space Agency (ESA) has initiated an effort to implement a computer based generic parachute system design and analysis tool. The tool is used to derive a conceptual design layout as well as characteristics and components of parachute systems for future spacecraft missions on the basis of descent simulations. It will assist in the definition of future mission concepts and in the assessment of feasibility of parachute system layouts. This paper surveys the system architecture of this tool and details of its components. Examples for applications in the ESA programme are addressed, in particular the HUYGENS-mission, descending through the atmosphere of Titan.
