Poetry. This volume contains parts 5 & 6 William James Austin's underground classic, UNDERWORLD. As the opening poem describes, Austin puts forth "a poetry which copylates beneath the pavement. so how the reader reads is a kind of surface experience, initially--like taking a walk around the city and feeling the underground connections--electric shocks to the body--subways who rattle their sunken cages--/the storm underfoot". Austin has worked as a musician and song writer in the worlds of jazz and rock music. Currently he co-edits the experimental literary magazine, BLACKBOX, while teaching at the State University of New York.
