In the early Seventies, a floundering Broadway experienced a resurgence with the landmark musical "Hair", but it was the pioneering sound designer Abe Jacob who brought rock and roll sound (big, not loud, not distorted) to Broadway theaters and paved the way for the mega-musicals to follow.
