This report assesses the status of the cod stock in the southern Gulf of St. Lawrence and Sydney Bight areas. It includes information on nominal & historical catches, catch & weights at age as derived from sampling of cod landings, catch per unit effort, population estimated from a fall groundfish survey, fishing mortality as determined from a survivor analysis, and biomass, population numbers, & fishing mortality derived from a sequential population analysis. Projections of catch are made to 1986.
