The Central Science Laboratory (CSL) is an executive agency of the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs, and it focuses on the sciences underpinning agriculture for sustainable crop production, environmental management and conservation and in food safety and quality. A wide range of analytical, diagnostic and consultancy services designed to support the international land-based and food industries are based on the research carried out by CSL. This is the 13th annual report and accounts which cover the year 2004-05.
