Compilation by the well-known jurist cardinal Gabriele Paleotti of questions considered by the Congregatio Consistorialis, the body created by Pope Sixtus V to prepare the acts to be brought before the Consistory or assemblage of cardinals. These questions concerned such matters as the creation, division, or consolidation of dioceses, resignation of bishops, appointment of episcopal coadjutors, granting of certain privileges to bishops, and confirmation of election and nomination of bishops.
