He was a young man at the early age of thirteen who was given away to be a bladesmith apprentice. When he became of the age of sixteen he followed his dream to go to the New World and become a citizen of America's. He learned to be a master bladesmith and a Master gunsmith before he left England. He accomplished this task in only three years. He was an exceptionally intelligent young man who could see what others lagged behind. He knew of his importance but never gave up on his dream. He went to the New World and there he made the famous Bowie knife for the mountain men who desired its function and style. He wanted to exceed his abilities as a master gunsmith. He had the vision to see the blade was being phased out. He moved on to Paterson New Jersey.
