Il camerino delle pitture di Alfonso I
註釋This important in-depth study is the fruit of several years of research which began in earnest with the discovery in the Prince of Wales Museum in Bombay, India, of the lost painting of Bacchus by Dosso Dossi which, almost certainly, was painted for the Camerino delle pitture in the Estense castle, Ferrara, at the time of Alfonso I. Vol. 1, which opens with newspaper articles and other texts by various authors on the discovery of the work in India, includes a study by Alessandro Ballarin of the two rooms which were commissioned by Alfonso I d'Este (1476-1534), an analysis of the literary sources, the rediscovered projects and the reconstruction of the Camerino in its original form. This study is followed by the first part of the catalogue of sculptures and paintings commissioned for the two rooms which comprises 36 sculptures and 10 paintings, indicating for each the title the current location, size, date and provenance (arranged in chronological order to mark the course of the work from its origins). Volume 1 closes with a section of documents on the various artists involved directly or indirectly in the realization of the Studio dei marmi and the Camerino delle pitture and a detailed bibliography (pp. 473-645) comprising printed and manuscript literary sources and printed texts from 1480 to 2002. Volume 2 comprises the illustrations of the virtual reconstruction in 3D of the Camerino delle pitture. The further volumes of the work are as follows:- Vol. 3 Documenti per la storia dei camerini di Alfonso I (1471-1634): Regesto generale Vol. 4 I camerini di Alfonso I nella via Coperta ed in castello: analisi dei documenti d'archivio : restituzione dei cantieri edilizi : cronaca della dispersione Vol. 5 Tavole : addenda, apparati ed indici dei tomi 1-4 Vol. 6 Dosso Dossi e la pittura a Ferrara negli anni del ducato di Alfonso I : il camerino delle pitture : atti del convegno di studio, Padova, Palazzo del Bo, 9-1
