The commercial sector includes exploitation and extraction of marine resources, the manufacturing industry and private services. In this new edition, a special effort is devoted to the analysis of maritime port-related industries. The non-commercial sector includes public services, including the French Navy, state services, education, safety, marine and coastal environment protection, marine sciences. Each activity of the commercial sector is described by key figures (turnover, value added and employment). The non-commercial sector includes data on running costs, in particular, personnel costs.
