註釋Studies suggest that advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) have provided high quality of care for decades. While much research has been conducted on current supply, distribution, trends, and projections ofphysicians in this country, less research has been done on APRNs in these areas. Although reports exist on APRN workforce supply, there is a continued need for studies that monitor APRN supply over time, both at a national and state level. These data are crucial in order to assess the impact of changes in health care on the demand for and use of APRJ'l"s and to assess the relationship between the APRN workforce, quality, cost, and access to services.
