註釋T.C. Collins was born in 1832 in Norfolk County, Virginia. The family migrated to Ohio in 1837. Except for three years of his life, he lived in the Little Hocking area most of his life. Collins was an extensive traveler and wherever he went he wrote the details of his experiences. He married Adalaide Bartlett on 9 July 1857 and died of tuberculosis in 1907.
