Measures of School Performance
註釋Standardized tests, designed to measure individual student performance, are being used increasingly in efforts to evaluate the functioning of schools and school districts, the impact of special programs, the comparative effects of home and school on achievement, and other aspects of school performance. Current usage and interpretation of test scores may lead to incorrect inferences, endangering the acceptance of this use of test scores. This report examines the most common inaccuracies in present reporting practices and suggests ways in which current test results might be made more reliable and useful.
