Milton, Spenser and the Epic Tradition
註釋An overview of the genre of epic poetry and its evolution from Homer to Milton, combined with a close analysis of the texts of perhaps six of the most well-known and studied examples: the Iliad, the Odyssey, the Aeneid, Orlando Furioso, The Faerie Queene and Paradise Lost. It provides not only a context in which the works of the later English poets should be read, but also presents an individual analysis of these familiar works.
