註釋In the middle years of the 16th century (1558-1562), Hebrew printing and press work was active in the northern Italian town of Riva del Garda ("Riva di Trento"). Its success was due to the cooperation of three men: Cardinal Cristoforo Madruzzo, who as the Bishop of Trent, had jurisdiction over the town; Rabbi Joseph ben Nathan Ottolenghi, a learned Rosh Yeshiva from Cremona, Italy, and Jacob Marcaria, judge for the Jewish law court (a "dayyan"), physician and printer. This edition of Zevaḥ Pesaḥ is the work of his press.
