Topics include: recommended dietary allowances; food, macro- and micronutrient intakes vs performance and work capacity; water deprivation and heat stress; sweat losses of body water; body weight regulation; risk factors associated with the use of tobacco and drugs; special needs of the athlete; and the general relationships of nutrition in training, work capacity, and the performance of physical tasks.
