Primarily the descendants of Peter Schmeltzer (or Smeltzer and Smelser) emigrated from the Palatine from 1715 to 1720 to County Limerick, Ireland. His descendants later immigrated to the United States and Canada. Includes the Bowles, Emmerton, Hillis, Taylor and other related families.
