Truth Hurts
註釋Nellie a resident of Fir Trees Residential Home, for reasons unknown to anyone but herself, has never been able to give her daughter Alison the love she deserves. It is only in her final days, that Nellie finds it in herself to share with her daughter the secret that has troubled her for nearly sixty years; a secret that has deprived her from loving her own daughter and a secret that will continue to haunt Alison for years to come.Nellie makes her debut into the world in 1919, in a terraced house in the mining community of Llanfaer in South Wales. Sadly she is orphaned at a young age and during her formative years is passed from pillar to post, never receiving the love that a child needs or should have.As a young woman with WWII ravaging the country, Nellie joins the Land Army hoping to change her solitary life for the better. 1946 brings a turning point for Nellie when she joins the N.A.A.F.I. Overseas and is posted to Tripoli. Here she finally finds the lifestyle she has been searching for, but as Nellie knows all too well, good things just don't happen to her and soon she finds herself alone again and facing the biggest ordeal of her young life. Alison finds it difficult balancing her busy life between her demanding, elderly mother and her partner Graham. Trying to please them both is at times an emotional roller coaster, but this is nothing to how she will feel once Nellie's secret is revealed and her world is shattered into very small, jagged pieces.
