The collection consists of correspondence, including letters to his parents written from Sanford School, Redding Ridge, Connecticut; from France, Germany, and Russia before World War I; and from service during the war. Also letters to his wife Wilma Lord Perkins from the San Francisco Conference of 1945, which he attended as an observer for the Office of War Information. Also included are notes for course lectures at the University of Rochester, and for his books, as well as subjects of interests and some of his published articles and speeches.
