The Donnells and Their Macdonald Ancestors
註釋Bryan MacDonald was born at Glencoe, Scotland, in 1645. He, his wife, Mary, and their three sons, immigrated to America and settled in New Castle County, Delaware, in 1686. They had four more children born in America. He died in 1707. Most descendants spelled their surname McDonnell or Donnell. A descendant, Thomas Donnell, was born at Hopewell, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, in 1765, the son of James and Catherine Donnell. He served as a frontier ranger during the Revolutionary War, 1778-1783. He married Nancy Barr, daughter of James Barr, in 1788 in Pennsylvania. They had eleven children. He died in Decatur County, Indiana, in 1833. Descendants lived in Indiana, Kentucky, Iowa, and elsewhere.
