Barbara Klemm: Light and Dark
註釋This monograph presents photographs by Barbara Klemm one of Germany's most distinguished woman photographers. Over forty years, her work bears witness to Germany's history and current situation, in a country that was divided for decades. She has created a body of photographs which combine the documentary and the artistic, and many of her pictures have become 'icons of contemporary history', shaping the cultural memory of several generations. This monograph shows pictures from every sphere of society: from politics, culture and the economy. Again and again, Barbara Klemm portrays people in those rare moments of being that make life so special. These pictures are so incisive and unique because Barbara Klemm allows her own personality to come into play. Included is an interview with the artist by Matthias FlÜgge. Published to accompany the exhibition at Willy-Brandt-Haus, Berlin, November 2009 – January 2010.
